Service Description

Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit: 8 to 9 Hours This course complies with the state Colorado requirements for concealed carry, including 8 to 9 hours of classroom instruction, and range instruction and qualification. This is a comprehensive defensive course, and as such it is impossible to list the full depth and width of content instructed. Absolutely no prior knowledge or experience with firearms is required. The course will draw heavily from Michael Martin's outstanding textbook, "Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals", (2nd Edition). After successful completion, the students will be issued a certificate, with appropriate documentation, allowing them to apply for their Colorado CHP. Classroom Instruction (8 to 9 Hours): The classroom portion of the course does not involve handling any firearms. Instruction is delivered by way of lecture, short videos, Power Point slide shows, and simulations. Instruction takes place in sanitary room, and as such, weapons and ammunition are prohibited. In point of fact, the sole device even resembling a firearm, is the red SIRT laser pistol shown in the accompanying photo. The SIRT laser pistol is a non-functional, training device, which merely projects a laser. The SIRT laser pistol projects a red laser to indicate the trigger take-up, and a green laser which simulates the projectile’s would-be-point-of-impact. This the same SIRT laser pistol that is used by law enforcement, and even by Special Forces to train. The classroom portion of training is completed with an open-book, exam. Range Instruction and Qualification (Included in the 8 to 9 Hours): The range instruction is delivered following the classroom instruction, at Concentric Lines Defense, LLC’s firearms range, at 4855 Bar 10 Road, Calhan, CO 80808 (approximately 5 miles south of Ellicott, CO). While the state of Colorado requires only 50 rounds of ammunition to be fired, this instructor finds that to be inadequate. During past classes, the students have fired between 100 to 175 rounds. By the end of the training, students are best described as “driving the handgun”. Their shots are deliberate and effective. Students are encouraged to bring their handgun for the range portion of the course. Students who do not own a handgun, can make arrangements to borrow one of Geno’s handguns. Scheduling: These courses are scheduled for a day and time of the students' request. Contact the instructor by email at Concentric_Lines_Defense@protonmail.com.
