Service Description
"Glock Advanced Handgun 1" is a professional-level, certificated course. This advanced course involves a comprehensive study, exclusively, of Glock handguns. The course includes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes of academic learning, followed by live-fire range time. Range time is an essential part of learning, and should follow the academic. That is to say, range time is the "Applied Academics" of the theory. The “Glock Advanced Handgun 1” course content and sequence, consists of 4 phases, and is outlined below. Phase 1: Introduction, briefly review Firearms Safety, Shooting Fundamentals, and Gear & Gadgets. Discussion will include the benefits of keeping a Glock stock, versus adding accessories, such as light/laser, reddot sights, and enhanced grip options such as skateboard tape, stippling, or epoxy with silicone carbide. Phase 2: Complete Glock disassembly. All stock, factory-original Glock models, Gen 1 through Gen 5 may be used for this course, with the exception of Glock 18. As the instructor disassembles his Glock, the students will disassemble their own Glocks. The instructor will give a comprehensive detailing of each part’s independent function, and each part’s function in relation to other parts. This exercise involves a comprehensive, 100% disassembly of a stock Glock, including all internal parts, and their respective sub-components. Phase 3: Acquiring & Practicing Advanced Handgun Skills & Drills with your Glock pistol. These 10 drills can be found in the USCCA’s "Marksmanship Simplified: Foundations of Handgun Coaching" course. The 10 drills involve a return to basics, as best practices, then brings those to the range for advanced application. While these 10 drills are appropriate for students ranging from beginners through advanced practitioners, this course does involve prerequisites. Phase 4: Live-fire range-time involves the students applying their newly acquired skills & drills with their stock Glock. (1 Hour). After successful completion of the course, students are welcome to remain at the range for 1 hour of “open, live-fire range”. During this time, students are free to use their stock Glocks and/or their modified Glocks.
