Service Description

As clarification, Taser is a brand name, and is manufactured by Axon. In order to carry a Taser in Michigan, one must fulfill two sets of requirements. The State of Michigan requires that one possess a valid MCPL. The same restrictions are in place for carrying a Taser, as what exist for carrying a concealed handgun. In addition to the State of Michigan requirements, the Taser’s manufacturer, Axon, requires that one complete a 3 hour Taser course. In the Taser course, participants examine the use, and the effects of a Taser as a less lethal defensive tool. To be certain, a Taser is a weapon and must be treated as such, including safe storage. Being subjected to a Tasering, as is required for law enforcement certification, is absolutely not permitted. There are stark differences between law enforcement Tasers and civilian Tasers. Most notably, the civilian Taser imparts a 30-seconds-duration cycle, which is considerably longer than that of law enforcement Tasers. These courses are scheduled for a day, time and location of the students' request. The instructor travels to the students' venue for their comfort.
